Funding Advice comes to Wantag
The Independent Advice Centre, based behind Barclays Bank, is celebrating the opening of a new Rural Information Point. Thanks to a grant from the Oxfordshire Community Foundation the Centre is now able to help local groups with issues that affect them including funding.
Regular funding surgeries are already provided by OCVA (Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action) but the Rural Information Point is able to extend this service. The Point also has a range of useful publications for reference that cover topics including how to write successful funding applications.
Office Manager Emma Kahlon said “As a small charity we often Fundraise ourselves so we know what a difficult and time-consuming task this can be. We hope that by having this information available locally, and with the support of OCVA, we can help make life easier for local organisations”
The charity currently has a number of voluntary opportunities available including Funding Advice volunteer, admin volunteer, volunteer advisors and volunteer drivers. If you are interested in making use of Funding Advice or in any of their voluntary opportunities contact Emma Kahlon/Wendy Watson on 01235 765348. The Centre is open Monday – Friday from 9.30 – 4.00. www.advicecentreonline.com.
